So many updates... How do I balance it out?

You sit down at your computer about to do your social media updates and you wonder a few things:

  1. Why do some of the people I follow seem to post every 5 seconds every time I'm logged on? I don't even read their articles because I'm so annoyed.
  2. Who will actually see what I write? I want to get out there so that I'm not wasting my time.
  3. What times of day are most people in my industry most likely to be on social media sites (e.g., Twitter)?
  4. I am so proud of my article I wrote recently and get lots of great feedback from others. I want everyone to see it more than once!
  5. I don't know what I'm doing here. Maybe I'll copy one of my followers.
  6. I have too much to say and don't know how to say it.

Advice: Do a mixture of all of the above. What you are seeing is what social media is all about.

What words describe your chaotic mind today?

What words describe you in this moment?

Feeling like you woke up on the wrong side of the bed and need to restart your morning?

Feeling computer savvy yet you have housework to do and feeling your insides jumping out of their skin begging you to exercise?

Feeling like you would love to jump-start your business on all social media sites that you can think of, but chaos in your mind creeps in to tell you that you don't know where to start?

One of my artist social media clients told me this morning:

Sometimes my social media computer brain wants to walk into the woods and spend all day amongst the air and reality of the temporal world... to realign my molecules to focus on pixels and bytes.

The best morning routine: How it can set the stage for your ideal day

If you are like me you have a lot of things to balance in your life:

  • your work
  • your home
  • your family
  • your cell phone

Of course that is the abbreviated version...

But you do wonder how you will get it all done, not necessarily on time but at all! And, if possible, you wonder how to remain sane in the process.

I have some good news. There is a way to maintain a balanced life and be at peace...

Start out your morning routine right.

Meditation. Meditate to get centered. If a meditation practice is not a part of your life, simply choose a quiet spot in your house and close your eyes. Try to find stillness in your mind. Breath lightly and look inside yourself as if you have a view of a new world.

Is it words or sand?

Has the internet changed our communications with love or friendships?  With the internet so easily accessible, it becomes the first mode of communication where words take on the greatest of meaning.  Do we become lost and literally zapped by the electromagnetic waves of cyberspace and lose touch with all other sources of reality that generate powerful connections in the first place?

Stepping aside from the exchange of words opens the mind to an extraordinary place where the conduit between two beings is instead in the stars.  This reality brings a refreshing aspect to a relationship that would not exist were it to simply revolve around communication via words.

Take comfort in this idea, even if it's unknown...

A stress free life

Do you wake in the morning and tell yourself that today will be the day that you will really take your health to another level? One idea to ponder is why you would wait. Any moment can be a time to set your intention. You might wait because you are too stressed at the idea of changing.

A healthy life makes you feel great but activities that drive our personalities can interfere with health, some of which feed addictive behaviors, stress, overindulgence or even laziness. Although we all mean well and fully intend to do what our heart tells us to do, is following every inclination at every moment actually following your heart and acting with your best health in mind?

There are many different facets included in health. Those that require motivation for some of you such as diet, exercise and mind-calming activities are part of it, but if you are stressed about the plan you have for yourself or the goal you wish to achieve, then maybe you are going about it in the wrong way for you.
