Leave your readers with their own opinions
To know yet to think that one does not know is best;
Not to know yet to think that one knows will lead to difficulty.
~ Lao Tzu
Why do I love that Chinese philosophy quote so much? I've read it over and over and I have a different reaction each time, but each time I still smile. That's why.
You already know your message
From a content strategy angle, it leaves the reader (or writer) with his/her own opinions. We read from our own selves in others' words, nebulous in nature. Although foreign, the meanings are clear with personal messages and stories.
The Beginner's Mind is a beautiful thing. Always knowing that you have room to learn is a sign of intelligence. Yet, in this it's knowledge in and of itself. Learn from stories told by others. Storytelling grabs readers in ways you may not predict. To see through a lens, as a writer, and look for what's interspersed within will fascinate your readers with double entendres.
When we close our eyes to our intuitions, hunches, perceptions and instead live the way we think we're "supposed" to live, it's a mistake. It's a waste. It's to live in a cloud.
Clouds. clouds. clouds
Don't live in a cloud. Did I just say that? I usually live there. Clouds are the best places to live. To reiterate, don't allow your mind and judgment to be clouded. Definitely still live in a cloud and dream on...
Know what you know. Keep your eyes—the inner ones—wide open, always seeing, always allowing yourself to believe.
Because life is beautiful and your treat is on its way.
