What does your miscellaneous kitchen drawer say about you?

Most people have a drawer in their kitchen that can be categorized as a miscellaneous utensil drawer. Almost everyone has their silverware organized in a divider. But what about the rest? What does your miscellaneous drawer say about you?

Do you have every tool you can ever imagine, many because someone else said you should? Or do you only keep the tools you need?

Do you often go through your drawer to clear out broken parts, or clean up crumbs that may have gathered in there?

Do you sometimes rewash everything in the drawer? Do you make sure that you have no plastic?

Now re-read all of those sentences in relation to your organization in your life, specifically your physical work space and your computer desktop and computer files.

How many ways do we need to connect with social media?

How many ways do we need to be connected via social media all simultaneously? [A comedy seen through the eyes of a user enchanted by it all].

I have an iPhone and Macbook Pro that speak well together and when I'm on the road I've got my 3G network for all media needs but also wifi networks popping up onto my screen whether I need them or not, often password protected. I often find myself asking for the wifi network password, wherever I am, whether I need it or not. When I get back to my car my bluetooth kicks on so that all phone calls speak loudly through my MINI.

With all this technology it's so tempting to want to work it all even while driving my car. But, of course I don't because that would be dangerous. But first I've got to plug my iPhone into the iPod connector in my car so that I've got my new music just delivered and synced this morning all cued up in my car for my 8 minute journey home.

How to make the most of your commute: Turn off the technology

Do you find yourself working all the time, even while you're driving your car? Texting while driving. "Just one real quick," you tell yourself? Voice mails from your bluetooth that no one can really hear anyway effectively?

You think it's a good way to remain on top of your busy schedule. You think it's the only way you can stay on top of all of your new fancy technology and social media (even though enough is enough..). It's a good way, however, to be unsafe on the road, and also to become an expert in Traffic School. You know you will certainly find yourself with many tickets, not to mention potential accidents.

So why not ask yourself... are you really more effecitve in your business life, social life (or life in general) when you operate in this manner?

All of us, even the busiest, could benefit with some nice quiet time. Make driving into a peaceful experience where you focus on who you are, and settle your mind.

I love blogging...

I love blogging. Simple as that. It feeds my innate need to write what my soul yearns me to write, to match images with words that create a work of art, to share my stories and thoughts and to get some computer time—I love my Macintosh...

Blogging a story is to tell a story that invites the readers to form a relationship with your brandDo you want your blog to be more successful? The best solution to this is to blog more often! To motivate yourself to write more, write more....

Simple as that.

The more difficult part is getting excited about an idea and losing the thought or creativity once you sit down to post it. To get inspired, to stay motivated, post every day... Habits can be changed by doing something every day.

Darkness you can find in your yoga practice: The psychology of you

Are you scared to face something within yourself? Do you sometimes feel that time is against you or that you cannot fulfill your wishes because of your fears?

You know that the answers are in your dark sides that you probably refuse to see.  Did you know that yoga has the potential to be the place to confront what’s most deep inside you?  This means, however, that you have the power to confront your darkest side of you in your yoga practice.

Learning to talk to yourself: Your internal dialogs

It's not easy, but possible to speak internally to another person as if you have direct access to each other's thoughts. You can be fueled by the language that speaks to you inside your mind. This dialog can be a way for you to make things right simply within your mind with certain people.

Speaking the secrets of your soul is easy when you speak to yourself. When your heart is open, you are able to feel the truth of what you really feel.

Listen to the story you have to tell. You can read it, listen to it, and live in it as you would your favorite book.

You have many channels to your heart. The trick is to find yours—the ones that undeniably open every time.

Find the universal presence, spirit or love that resonates most with you and feel it hold you like a warm blanket. Then speak to it. Let it tell you, as if you are looking into a mirror, what you have to say.

Be a safer driver: Distracted driving truths

Secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation's Ray LaHood spoke out to show that he heard America’s cry to end the dangerous practice of distracted driving on our roadways.  Distracted driving is serious and life-threatening.

Even though they are leading the effort, you, the drivers, are the key to listening and paying attention to will truly prevent distracted driving.  Simply said, when you get into your car, pay attention to your driving, period.

Distracted Driving can be categorized as follows:

  • Visual — taking your eyes off the road
  • Manual — taking your hands off the wheel
  • Cognitive — taking your mind off your driving

More specifically, if you are performing any non-driving activity that has the potential to distract you from your primary task of driving, and increase your risk of crashing, you are a distracted driver.
