Absorbing vulnerability through humor - Day 14 of 30 day writing challenge

30-Day writing challenge through Kale & Cigarettes (500 words)

I had a dream last night of a cave where I've got giant tongs to reach into the cave and pull out stuff that needs to go. I pulled out one big black thing with tentacles that I wanted to throw away quickly without any of it touching me. I said, "My Vulnerability". I was in the desert and knew that I could throw it in the hot sand to put an end to it. Sand absorbed its stickiness so it would no longer attach to me.

I killed my vulnerability...

True awareness - Day 13 of 30 day writing challenge

30-Day writing challenge through Kale & Cigarettes (500 words)

I am deep into an introspective place right now. It's a place of sophrosyne—a healthy state of mind characterized by self-control, moderation, and a deep awareness of one's true self, and resulting in true happiness. I'm thinking about the different levels inside myself I traverse. There are definitely different levels. I notice it today as I'm basking in euphoric overall pain, induced by the weather. With my daily morning spiritual yoga practice, I become ultra sensitive to any changes. Today is different.

New tricks? - Day 11 of 30 day writing challenge

My old dog learning a new trick

30-Day writing challenge through Kale & Cigarettes (500 words)

You can't teach an old dog new tricks. Cliché I know. Or can you? When I met my parents for dinner last night, a conversation came up around the food choices we make when we're older. [I think that in the back of my mind each day I am preparing for my next day's theme]. I immediately knew that I need to write about the old dogs, me being one of them, but my predecessor started this and my kids will follow. We are following in a lineage as guided...

Planning an escape - Day 10 of 30 day writing challenge

30-Day writing challenge through Kale & Cigarettes (500 words)

I just want to escape. It's what I think about most lately. It's not that my current life is mundane, but I desperately crave some alone time where it's ok to space out and do whatever I want. What a dream to have very little responsibility except to myself and my own health.

First, I will find the authorized Mysore Ashtanga teacher and the yoga studio to do my Mysore six mornings per week.

Lines that built a story on iTunes set to Shuffle - Day 9 of 30 day writing challenge

30-Day writing challenge through Kale & Cigarettes (500 words)

I'm trying an experiment today to get inspired to write. I also have a task to do and don't mind you watching me do it. I'm playing my entire iTunes library on Shuffle, and part of the job is to discard songs which really do not need to be with me any longer. This includes all the oldest songs I've had pre-Apple products. iTunes was my first Apple account and it's been so long that my Apple ID has the oldest email address and password and security questions, so it took me an entire day to Authorize my computer after a recent upgrade to play some older songs. I have so many songs from my pirate bay torrent downloads too, which sometimes included 13 albums when I only wanted one song.

Time and the Seven Deadly Sins - Day 8 of 30 day writing challenge

Next door neighbor's jasmine that flows into my yard

30-Day writing challenge through Kale & Cigarettes (500 words)

Today's first theme is time and second is Seven

"Oh yea, you're the one who skipped First Grade and missed the how-to-tell-time lesson," eloquently put by someone who depends on me. Yes, I'm the one. I often wish that time would just go away. I'd be way more productive and creative. I love to wake up at dawn and go to bed at dark, but not have the clock ticking during the day.

I prefer to follow Albert Einstein

They just don't care - Day 7 of 30 day writing challenge

(Source: withbloggerycomesclarity.blogspot.com)

30-Day writing challenge through Kale & Cigarettes (500 words)

You gotta love the days when you wake to a low battery high-pitched beep on a smoke detector in the house, especially during those "snooze" 9-minute sections where you love sleep the most. The newer kind that is half carbon monoxide detector and has a voice is even worse.

The last time I heard it go off was to announce "carbon monoxide present"

Not doing anything but hearing blood flow - Day 6 of 30 day writing challenge

30-Day writing challenge through Kale & Cigarettes (500 words)

My theme continues... the one where I'm not supposed to do anything. Not doing a thing except holding the universe together sounds good.

It's like going with the flow of life, not making any proactive decisions that don't involve living in the moment or taking cues from what comes before me. I don't need to figure anything out. I have already prayed enough and engaged with the Law of Attraction and my purple-lighted 7th chakra more times than I can remember. It's time to sit back and receive.

optical illusion?

A few hours ago, I thought I was really making progress.
